3X5" linocut print on Japanese ornamental paper
This is an original hand pulled linocut print in an limited edition of 12 only. It was created using professional archival artist materials only. Due to the hand printing process, each print is slightly different and unique. The print shown is representative of the edition. The print you receive may not be the exact one shown but will have the same colour paper and ink. Prints are unframed unless otherwise specified.
I'm kind of an owl nut and have done a lot of owl linocuts! In fact, my first successful linocut print was an owl! I just dreamed this one up, without the use of a reference photo. It's one of my absolute favourites and has been one of my most popular among collectors as well! I hope you like Night Watch!
HISTORY/AWARDS: A print from this edition was juried into a Federation of Canadian Artists exhibition in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada
This is a great way to turn favourite drawings into original prints! Here’s how I create a single colour linocut print:
1. I draw a design and carve it into a linoplate
2. I ink up a brayer and roll the ink onto the plate
3. I centre art paper over the inked plate
4. I run it through a printmaking press
5. I pull off the paper and, voila! A print appears!
Any questions? Would you like more photos? Feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you!
