20X24X1.75" acrylic painting on deep profile cradled birchwood panel

This original painting was created using professional archival artist materials only. It is unframed. The edges and backs of its cradle boards are neatly painted black for a professional finish. It is wired and ready to hang. Due to differences in device screens, colour of art may vary from what you see on your screen.

The old character home stood in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. It waited to be removed to make room for a seniors complex. The house was solid as a rock with beautiful hardwood floors. I could have been a great restoration project, but it was moved, and not sold. It sat with it's roof off all winter in our wet west coast rainforest climate. Then I never heard anymore about it. Such a sad plight for such a beautiful old home. It broke my heart. I LOVE old character homes. I couldn't have this one, but it inspired me for a painting.

This is my second painting of the same old house. The first sold at one of my first group exhibitions! This painting is much different than the first. Each tells a story. What was the home's first family like? Who else owned it? Were there children? Was there a garden? What was life like back then? I hope someone will love this painting as much as I enjoyed creating it.

HISTORY/AWARDS: Juried into Federation of Canadian Artists "Dimensions of Reality" exhibition and recognized for "outstanding artistic excellence," at Peace Gallery North, Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada.
